Family of Chinese woman killed by hippo in Naivasha awarded KSh 25.5 million  by  Linda Shiundu – High Court Jacqueline Kamau blamed the hotel for the fatal attack of the 28-year-old Chinese woman – She said the hotel had failed to secure the premises to stop animals from encroaching – Justice Kamau also blamed the hotel for failing to erect proper signage – According to the hotel, the woman was killed while taking a selfie with the hippos The family of a Chinese national who was killed while holidaying at the Lake Naivasha Country Club in 2013 by a hippo has been awarded KSh 25.5 million. The High Court ruled the hotel was to blame for the fatal attack since it was clear the hippos had invaded the hotel and were a threat to guests.
